Frequently Asked Questions

The topics that come up most in a first conversation.

What is your minimum order quantity?
It depends on the commodity. For pulses, dry food and coffee you can start with a single container (roughly 20–25 MT). In sugar and grains the producer-direct channel usually requires far larger volumes; for small parcels we point you to free zone stock.
Why can't you quote a price immediately?
A commodity price depends on the exchange reference, origin, crop period, freight and delivery terms. A price given before specification, quantity, packaging and discharge port are fixed is not a real price. Once we have those four, we usually share a realistic range within 24 hours.
I have an offer far below the market — can you match it?
No — and for us that is a quality signal. There is no cost structure below the commodity price; such offers are almost without exception fraudulent. We can review the offer and show you exactly where it fails to add up.
Which delivery terms do you work with?
FOB, CFR, CIF and, on request, DAP under Incoterms 2020. Container shipments are usually CIF/CFR, bulk cargoes typically FOB.
What are your payment terms?
The standard structure is a letter of credit at sight from a first-class bank (DLC at sight). For established relationships CAD and partial TT combinations can be considered. We do not work on open account without security.
How do you guarantee quality?
Pre-shipment sampling and analysis, an independent surveyor's report (SGS / Intertek / Bureau Veritas) and the right to a second analysis at the discharge port. The tolerance and penalty applying to any deviation are written into the contract from the outset.
How long does a shipment take?
It depends on origin and routing. Contract and letter-of-credit work typically takes 2–4 weeks, production/preparation 1–3 weeks, and the sea leg between 10 and 40 days depending on the route.
Do you handle third-country (transit) trade?
Yes. We structure shipments moving directly from the origin country to the buyer's country and arrange the document and letter-of-credit flow accordingly.
